I guess Lauryn Hill wasn’t the only one with tax problems… Mary J. Blige has just been hit with a tax lien totaling $3.4 million dollars!

According to TMZ, the IRS filed a federal tax lien against the Grammy winner, claiming she failed to pay all her income taxes for the years 2009 ($574,907.30), 2010 ($2,203,743.53) and 2011 ($647,604.60). Tax bill grand total: $3,426,255.43.

IRS is not the only entity that Mary J. owes, the state of New Jersey is claiming that she owes them $901,769.65 in back taxes. Mary J. Blige is also being sued for allegedly defaulting on a $2.2 million bank loan and her charity is facing a lawsuit that claims it took out a $250k loan and never paid it back.

More money, more problems.

If there’s one thing I like about Bobby Ray is that he pieces together these storyteller songs, and always accompanies the record with a cinematic visual that makes you love the song even more. “Through My Head” was clearly inspired by the new Tom Crusie movie, Oblivion, and I absolutely love it. — Underground Luxury coming soon.

After the Rick Ross controversy, and then subsequent plethora of “U.O.E.N.O.” remixes that Rocko released in the aftermath, I’m completely if not entirely over this record… But Usher, seemingly out of nowhere took a moment to breathe a little life into the record, and I’m not mad at it.

J. Cole took to the e-streets to reveal the original and deluxe covers of his sophomore studio album, Born Sinner… In additional to revealing the covers, J. Cole admitted to pushing up his release date from June 25th, to June 18th, as to honor one of his musical inspirations, Kanye West, and his Yeezus release date.

Over the weekend, Kanye West took to Saturday Night Live to premiere his song, “BLK SKN HEADS” and perform “New Slaves”… In performing his new record, he inadvertently revealed that his new album will take a more punk rock, angry, antidisestablishmentarianism direction, and that he doesn’t care if we like it.

You can call me a hater but I don’t care too much for Kanye‘s “New Slaves”… I am a Kanye fan. I appreciate him, his menses and his mood swings… But I’d be lying if I told you I had any intention of listening to that record again. Now, sonically, “New Slaves” was sound. It just didn’t evoke emotion or illicit the response that a Kanye Omari West record usually does. Maybe my expectations were too high…. I was expecting to hear “New Slaves” and pull a Pusha-T and scream at the wall about black tees and drugs. But I literally had NO feeling towards it, or for it. And it looks like Kanye has no real feeling towards it either.
