A few months ago it was made known that Sony had interest, but today the acquisition was officially be approved. Moments ago, Facebook announced their recent deal to acquire Instagram, and they paid $1 Billion in cash and shares. The acquisition of Instagram is the biggest purchase that Mark Zuckerberg has made, and with the recent changes that Facebook has made, already has users a little worried that the app they know and love will soon change to a Facebook automaton…. Fear not, Mark has promised to maintain and grow Instagram independently, and that purchases like this will be rare for his company, which is set to go public soon.
